Terms of Timeline
At Prestige Woodworks, we take your schedule as seriously as our craftsmanship.
We’ve built tools and systems that track the pace of every home we work on, giving us real data to predict timelines and help your project stay on track.
Part of our service, and part of our promise, is sharing the risk of your build. These Terms of Timeline outline how we do that together; clearly defining responsibilities, commitments, and contingencies so your cabinetry stays aligned with your home’s progress from start to finish.
Pre-Lock Window (9+ weeks from install)
If your estimated cabinet installation date is more than nine weeks away, we are willing to adjust your estimated installation date as needed with no penalty. Due to the unpredictability of the build timeline, your estimated installation date, which is 9+ weeks out, carries a ±10 business-day window during this phase. Our project manager checks in every two weeks to confirm your progress and align our timeline with your schedule, and compare what our tools show with your own expectations for readiness. You may elect to lock your date in during this time. Once you decide to lock in your date, all commitments and contingencies begin applying to your project immediately.
Locked-In Window (9 weeks from install)
At 9 weeks out, you confirm that you will ensure your project will stay on pace for the agreed installation date. From this point, your project is considered locked in on our end, and we build to that schedule. When you lock in, your install date tightens to a ±5 business day window, and all commitments and contingencies begin applying immediately.
Field Measure and Final Prep Window (6 weeks from install)
At 6 weeks out, you’ll receive a Production Readiness Confirmation Email. By replying, you confirm and accept that cabinet installation is scheduled in approximately 6 weeks. Your install window will tighten to ±3 business days.
Measurement & Readiness Requirements (Critical at 6 weeks)
To ensure a perfect fit and finish, we prefer to measure after the drywall is complete.
If you elect to lock in and the 6-week trigger is reached, and we are required to measure pre-drywall, you accept the following risks and responsibilities:
You’ll sign off on measurements and 3D drawings, confirming accuracy.
Prestige is not responsible for variances between framing and finished dimensions.
Delays caused by on-site obstructions or last-minute changes are billed at our current subcontracted installer hourly rate.
Any required change orders due to inaccurate measurements or design changes will incur additional costs and extended timelines.
Installation Week (1 week from install)
Once your job enters the 6-week window, our project manager will communicate with you weekly. 1 week from the start of installation, your install window will tighten to ±0 business days. Our project manager will confirm a firm start date and delivery schedule.
Contingencies
If your home is not ready when we arrive, the following steps are the direct result of your decision to hold your install date:
Cabinets will be delivered to a safe location of your choosing, at your expense.
You’ll sign off on quantity and quality upon receipt.
The 40% delivery payment will be due, bringing your total paid to 90%.
At this point, you choose one of two options. Hire your own installer, we’ll discount your project by the final 10% and consider our work complete. Or hire a delivery crew to transport the cabinets from your storage location. Use Prestige to manage delivery and installation later. We will transport the cabinets to and from the storage facility. We’ll hire and manage a subcontracted installer. A 5% management fee is added to cover delivery, rescheduling, and management.
